 , committee effort or community building activity. This workshop will 
 give you the confidence to pursue your personal goals - from the impor
 tance of shaking hands and making eye contact, to tips on the best ope
 ning line and how to exit a conversation gracefully. An amazing side b
 enefit is that you'll learn how to create a welcoming community space 
 by keeping an eye out for outliers, considering yourself a host instea
 d of a guest and knowing how to compliment someone without \"othering\
 " them.ABOUT OUR PRESENTERRobbie Samuels has extensive community organ
 izing, events logistics and fundraising experience. In 2006 he co-foun
 ded Socializing for Justice to build a cross-cultural, cross-issue pro
 gressive community, network and movement in Boston based on the philos
 ophy of abundance. He is the Senior Manager of Events and Donor Engage
 ment at Gay & Lesbian Advocates & Defenders (GLAD). On the side he off
 ers trainings and consultation to non-profit boards, venture capitalis
 ts and grassroots organizers. In 2011, Boston City Council named his b
