DESCRIPTION:Hispanic Heritage month runs from September 15 to October 
 12, but, in Jamaica Plain, we celebrate the Hispanic Heritage everyday
 ! On Sunday, October 21, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. vocalist and song-writer M
 aura Mendoza, with Jeremy Quick, guitar, will present a program of pop
 ular Latin-jazz and Pop music, uniquely arranged for the pairing of ja
 zz guitar and soaring vocals, at the Loring-Greenough House, 12 South 
 St, Jamaica Plain MA, as part of the Sunday Afternoon at the ‘Greeno
 ugh House parlor concert series.\n\nThe Sunday Afternoon at the ‘Gre
 enough House series, beginning its 13th season, recreates the atmosphe
 re of 18th and 19th century “musical afternoons” in the 1760 Lorin
 g-Greenough House, twice monthly, October to May. Tickets are availabl
 e at the door: donation $15 ($10 seniors, students and JPTC members).

 ternoon tea featuring Caribbean delicacies, following the program.\n\n
 Maura Mendoza: Maura started her musical training when she was 14 year
 s old in El Salvador and later in Panama. She attended college in Hava
 na, Cuba and Mexico City. Her background includes musical theater, act
 ing, and dance. After moving to the US and launching her career as a s
 olo singer, Maura has played many local venues exploring rock, jazz, a
 coustic, and pop music. She performs regularly in the Boston area, ble
 nding her Latin roots in music with local jazz musicians. For more inf

 ed musician, Jeremy has performed nationally and internationally with 
 a wide variety of musical projects. From Rock and Pop to Jazz and Groo
 ve, Jeremy has contributed his unique sound to many different groups.

 tions including Guitar & Drums, Guitar & Bass, and Guitar & Vocals. Wh
 ile he enjoys playing guitar for a wide variety of bands, Jeremy also 
 finds time to compose and tour with his original project: The JQTrio.
