 nity for audience participation in familiar music. There will also be 
 Christmas music of Tomás Luis de Victoria, who died 400 years ago thi
 s year and was the most famous composer of the 16th century Golden Age
  in Spain, a first start at next years' 300th anniversary of the death
  of Juan Baptists Cabanilles, preeminent composer of Spain's Silver Ag
 e, some brass music from Renaissance Italy and Germany and a Sonata fr
 om Wales in Imitation of Bird Song, on Sunday, December 18 at 3:00 p.m
 ., at the historic Loring-Greenough House, 12 South Street, Jamaica Pl

 d in 1992, was named for the flagship of an expedition founded by SirH
 umphrey Gilbert in 1583 to search for a northwest passage through Nort
 h America to China (via theSt. Laurence River!). He brought along with
  him from England a fabulous assortment of “Landlubberlymusicians”
  with which to entertain the natives along the way,and beguile them in
 to giving up theirriches. Unfortunately, the musicians also beguiled t
 he captain into failing to reef the sails when aviolent storm blew up,
  and it was reported from the companion ships that “like the swan th
 at singethbefore her death, they continued in sounding the trumpets wi
 th drums and fifes. Also winding thecornetts and hautboys, and in the 
 end their jollity left with the ringing of doleful knells” as the De
 lightrammed onto the rocks, August 29th, 1583.Frank Fitzpatrick, here 
 playing recorders and sackbutt, has a BS in Music from Rhode Island Co
 llegeand teaches music in a school for autistic children. He lives in 
 Cranston.Otto Guzman, a native of Guatemala now living in Pawtucket, i
 s the principle cellist in the Fall RiverSymphony. He is playing cello
 , cornetto and recorder today but also plays viol, sackbutt and lute. 
 Hehas built many of his own instruments, including the cornett he is p
 laying today.Paul Ukleja, a retired physics professor at the Universit
 y of Massachusetts -- Dartmouth, has been inthe Delight Consort since 
 its inception in 1992. He is playing recorders, IrishWhistle and corne
 ttotoday. He lives in New Bedford. He also plays trumpet, flugelhorn a
 nd penny whistle and plays with,among other groups, the New Era Jazz B
 and (Bristol, RI), the Strathspey and Reel Society of NewHampshire, an
 d the Leeds Waites (Yorkshire, UK).Judith Conrad studied piano with In
 ternational Concert Pianist Theodore Lettvin in Boston, andwith Freema
 n Koberstein at Oberlin Conservatory, and holds a degree from Harvard 
 University. Shehas recently played at the Cabezon500 festival in Almer
 ia, Spain. She is Organist/Choir Director atGood Shepherd Lutheran Chu
 rch in Kingston RI. A specialist in early music and performer onclavic
 hord and harpsichord, she is the Founder/Director of the Delight Conso
 rt and of the Fall RiverFipple Fluters, an amateur recorder-playing gr
 oup. She is also the originator of the conceit“Clavichordists for Wo
