 tea follows the programThe Sunday Afternoon at the ‘Greenough House 
 series recreates the atmosphere of 18th and 19th century “musical af
 ternoons” in the 1760 Loring-Greenough House on the first and third 
 Sundays of each month, October to May. Tickets are available at the do

 n the international classical guitar circuit. Her musicality and chari
 sma have delighted audiences on 3 continents in a wide variety of prog
 rams ranging from solo recitals to chamber music to highly acclaimed p
 erformances as soloist with orchestra. Recent achievements include a s
 pecial prize from Italy's prestigious Academia Chigiana and the record
 ing of several solo CDs available at her website www.zairameneses.com.
  She has also aroused considerable interest through postings of live p
 erformances on youtube.Zaira Meneses was born in Xalapa, Mexico. From 
 an early age she showed great talent for music, studying both classica
 l guitar and voice and appearing frequently in a wide variety of venue
 s both as a guitarist and singer. She traveled widely, performing as w
 ell with the famed Orquesta de Guitarras founded by Maestro Alfonso Mo
 reno. At the age of 17 and as the youngest contestant, she won first p
 rize in an important national concerto competition in the legendary gu
 itar mecca of Paracho. This success led to performances of Joaquin Rod
 rigo's Concierto de Aranjuez and Concierto Madrigal for two guitars th
 roughout Mexico.Since moving to the USA in 2001, Meneses has built a s
 tellar reputation for her warm sound, limpid technique and superb natu
 ral musicality performing in many of the great concert halls of the wo
 rld including Boston's Jordan Hall, New York City's YMHA and Salzburg'
 s Wiener Saal . Added aspects to Ms. Meneses's artistry are her beauti
 ful singing voice and talent for the dance, both frequently featured i
 n encores following her appearances as guitarist.Built in 1760, the Lo
 ring-Greenough House, a local landmark listed on the Massachusetts and
  National Registers of Historic Places, is located at 12 South Street 
 (at the Civil War Monument) in Jamaica Plain, MA. It is owned and mana
 ged by the non-profit Jamaica Plain Tuesday Club, Inc. as a historic h
 ouse museum and site for art and music presentations. The Loring-Green
