DESCRIPTION:Jamaica Plain based musician/activist Brian O'Connell pres
 ents his new original rock opera, Over The Line, at Spontaneous Celebr
 ations on Saturday, February 4, 2012, 5:00 & 8:00pm, $10. Over The Lin
 e is a high concept, low budget, satirical psychological rock opera ab
 out ideology, indoctrination, unwritten rules and inner transformation
 . Written and directed by Brian O'Connell, known for his kinetic bass 
 playing with Uncle Sammy, Gordon Stone, Gary Backstrom, The Grass Gyps
 ys, and many others.Over The Line is a rock song cycle set in a theatr
 ical setting complete with over sized puppet actors, spoken word, and 
 a 10-piece band with 8 singers (4 female and 4 male) featuring The Gra
 ss Gypsys and members of Brief Awakening. The performance will take pl
 ace in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston at Spontaneous Celebra
 tions, a grassroots community center that organizes creative arts prog
 rams and festivals. \"This is the culmination of years of conceptualiz
 ing, writing, and work. I'm super psyched to be putting this dream sho
 w together with such amazing instrumentalists and singers. This show i
 s sure to appeal to anyone who's into prog-pop, musicals, radical soci
 al viewpoints, great singing, and great playing. There will also be op
