 tefanov,  present a special program for Presidents’ Day: JS Bach, C
 PE Bach and GP Telemann. Colonial dances, Parlor music  from 1790's t
 hrough 1840's and some Patriotic Songs. Fiddler Ishmael Stefanov augme
 nts the group for the colonial dances, at the Loring Greenough House, 
 on Sunday, February 16, 2014, at 3:00 p.m., at the historic Loring-Gre
 enough House, 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain MA. Meet the artists at a
 fternoon tea following the program.                The Sun
 day Afternoon at the ‘Greenough House series recreates the atmospher
 e of 18th and 19th century “musical afternoons” in the 1760 Loring
 -Greenough House, twice monthly, October to May. Tickets are available
  at the door: donation $15 ($10 seniors, students and JPTC members). S

 amed for the flagship of an expedition founded by SirHumphrey Gilbert 
 in 1583 to search for a northwest passage through North America to Chi
 na (via theSt. Laurence River!). He brought along with him from Englan
 d a fabulous assortment of “Landlubberlymusicians” with which to e
 ntertain the natives along the way,and beguile them into giving up the
 irriches. Unfortunately, the musicians also beguiled the captain into 
 failing to reef the sails when aviolent storm blew up, and it was repo
 rted from the companion ships that “like the swan that singethbefore
  her death, they continued in sounding the trumpets with drums and fif
 es. Also winding thecornetts and hautboys, and in the end their jollit
 y left with the ringing of doleful knells” as the Delightrammed onto
  the rocks, August 29th, 1583.Judith Conrad studied piano with Interna
 tional Concert Pianist Theodore Lettvin in Boston, andwith Freeman Kob
 erstein at Oberlin Conservatory, and holds a degree from Harvard Unive
 rsity. Shehas recently played at the Cabezon500 festival in Almeria, S
 pain. She is Organist/Choir Director atGood Shepherd Lutheran Church i
 n Kingston RI. A specialist in early music and performer onclavichord 
 and harpsichord, she is the Founder/Director of the Delight Consort an
 d of the Fall RiverFipple Fluters, an amateur recorder-playing group. 
 She is also the originator of the conceit“Clavichordists for World P

 ov-Wagner, but due to continuing adventures with spelling, pronunciati
 on, and truncation finds it preferable to be known as Ishmael the Fidd
 ler.Built in 1760, the Loring-Greenough House, a local landmark listed
  on the Massachusetts and National Registers of Historic Places, is lo
 cated at 12 South Street (at the Civil War Monument) in Jamaica Plain,
  MA. It is owned and managed by the non-profit Jamaica Plain Tuesday C
 lub, Inc. as a historic house museum and site for art and music presen
