Can't wait to meet some of my neighbors - here as well as in person! JP rocks!
Unfortunately, I'm in Germany at the moment, but I'll be back in time for spring. See you!

    Hi Joe,

Oh, you know it...the party has already started! Great new site! Congrats! :)
  • Robin Fisher

    Hi Joe,

I left you a message awhile back, but now that I am a member of the Group, maybe my message will find its way to you.

My name is Robin Fisher, I am volunteering for the Wake Up the Earth Festival with Spontaneous Celebrations which will be May 3rd this year. Before the festival, to invite community involvement, Spontaneous offers artist led Parade Decorations Workshops to local afterschool programs as well as stroller and bike decoration workshops. This year the Workshop Coordinator Jenn Bliss wants to inspire folks to make banners for their streets so they and their neighbors can walk in the parade together. To me, this would fit perfectly with NFN's mission of bringing neighbors together by encouraging a wider community to participate in Wake Up the Earth. Thanks! Robin Fisher

  • Amanda

Hey, I never got that group message you sent yesterday. Also, I haven't received any replys about my snack message so I think that one may not have gone out to everyone either.
  • Amanda

My settings were set to receive all emails.

    Hi Joseph,
Thanks for inviting me to NFN. I finally got around to signing up and am busy looking through the site. Looks cool. So far I'm interested in bicycles and parks and meeting people in the neighborhood since I moved here only recently (mid-Febuary).
    Have a good day.

Joe, could you add a link to where we could learn more about the Kennedy School and the specific people that will be helped through the Holiday Drive? I did a Google search, but it was inconclusive in terms of the Holiday drive.
  • Steph

You guys were absolutely a big help. I didn't post the peice anywhere online yet, but I'll email it to you with an attachment. Thanks so much again.

I love JP, and am hoping to connect with even more awesome friends and neighbors.
  • Kathy McKenna

    Dear Joseph,
Thanks for your reply. I am between NYC for my acting career and upstate NY for my personal life so I don't know how involved I can be. But my sister is going to be at the swearing-in tomorrow along with a million others and you too, so have fun! You earned it, I'm sure.
  • Torie Reed

Thanks for the note and for letting me know about this great web site (like Facebook, except relevant and far less annoying). I love JP and look forward to looking around on the site. And yes, anytime you want to hear about Nazis and art, I'm your girl.
  • Lisa Reardon

  • Zillah Glory

  • lorit

PMD (http://www.pmd.org) volunteers, including a board director who lives in JP, help charities in Greater Boston, including those in Jamaica Plain. PMD has organized hands-on service projects and mobilized volunteers from Greater Boston for Easter visits for a dozen years for Little Brothers-Friends of the Elderly, a lot of yard work for two group homes for formerly homeless, elderly men and women run by HEARTH, as well as Community Servings, Bikes Not Bombs, Self Esteem Boston, Volunteers of America, Young Achievers School, the Home for Little Wanderers, the World's Fair, and Boston Urban Gardeners.
  • lorit

PMD hopes to exhibit if we can find someone to staff our table. Unfortunately, we have a service project filling seed orders for the upcoming Gardeners Gathering that directly overlaps, so I can't do it. (We plan our service projects as much as a year in advance.) The person who told us about your event may be coordinating volunteers and/or staffing the book club table....
  • Amanda Starkel

hi joe, I don't have any suggestions so far, other than maybe put up a facebook group to direct people to this site. I have to say I like Ning. Also, is there a way to send someone your aren't a contact/friends with a private message? I couldn't find a way to do it. For example, on facebook, you can send just aout anyone a message without knowing their email address.
  • Sergio Viana

Yes. Please let me know what I need to reserve a space. I will be representing Neighborhood Health Plan. Thanks
  • Juan Gonzalez

Thanks Joe. It is my time to learn more about technology and how it is used to build a community.
  • Cindy Diggs

    Hi Joe,

Yeah, I can't believe you don't have a CD. It's a good thing you asked me to do the table at the event. Funky Fresh closed so I will have to do a lot more events to sell the CDs. I have a family waiting for our help as we speak.

Thanks for your support. You can be the first to break the ice at our table on the 11th! :)
  • Cindy Diggs

    Peace is Coming! :)
