Haha! Oh man, I totally would but it's our last class (Flash animation) and we have to present our final projects. I'll make sure to stay connected through this site then :)

    Hello Joe,
I'm not going to represent FPC. Looking more to see what different folks are offering, put some faces to names and speak informally about the tree climbing and nature related activities I've been facilitating for teens in Franklin Park. So I'll be attending as an individual as opposed to representing a particular organization or business. Thanks for setting this up!

    Yo "neighbor for life,"

I've registered the Stonybrook cohousing group for the 3/11 expo--sent in my $10--just want to confirm that. What time do we need to be there, and how big is the table?

    Thanks for all your energy!

If there's room, i'd actually like to represent Wainwright in the Expo.
  • Keith

Many of our customers are non profits, as I'm sure you're aware (several in JP, e.g. JP Open Studios). We also have a very busy branch on Centre Street. And yes, the Community Room is open to any group. We also have a website communityroom.net where people can contribute to our non profit customers online.

    Joseph,

I'm going to be there already wearing two different hats: First Church JP, and the JP Forum. Can I just bring my JP Green House materials and fit them in too?

hi Joe...i'm having a hard time joining groups...i've tried multiple computers..any suggestions?
  • Matt Kanaracus

Opps, I missed your comment/request to table for JP Photogs. Would have been fun! Sorry about that.
  • Stacy Carpenter

Thanks for mentioning the blog! John Booker responded with a couple of important points I'd overlooked and so allowed for clarification/expansion.

    Joseph,

Is there a section of the forum dedicated to shopping, like a craigslist but totally within NFN?

Would you be willing to create such a space?

    Cheers!
  • frederick

I've been wanting to have a place for comments, and it just occurred to me that nfn was perfect. I understand it is a ning site, but i can't find directions for use. Do you know where to go to learn to edit the group. I haven't been able to add photo for group pic? Should i have a moderator? Will anyone be able to edit the site or am i automatically the moderator?
  • frederick

Adding photos is essential to the discussion and I'm finally up to the tech challenges. thanks
  • Rick Ward

Hi Joseph- Is there any cost for one of these networks? It would be great to have one set up for all Roslindale neighborhoods but before any commitment can be made, I know Roslindale Village Main St is revamping their website and making it more interactive so I would not want to duplicate their efforts.....
But- this might be a nice site for the JP/W Rox/Rosl/Hyde park GBLT folks to connect. Thoughts?
  • Robin Maxfield

nevermind....of course i found it finally.....could you make sure it's gone? I should just have RobinMaxfield....thanks!
  • Ed Balmelli

Thanks for following up and sorry for being unable to call you back. I actually live in Belmont and work for a nonprofit consulting firm in Cambridge. I just came back from the Nonprofit Tech conference and am excited to find out what social media activities, sites, initiatives are going on in the Boston area. Your site in particular stuck me as a fabulous agent for social change and I'd love to learn more. I will try you again on Monday, Erin
  • John Hagen

    Hello Joseph,

How are things in JP. It is getting warm down here in Montgomery AL. I guess summer is upon us. My neighborhood association is interested in pursuing a community building initiative, so naturally I came to your website for ideas.
  • John Hagen

Our neighborhood already has a preservation association but it is focused on the home owners and maintaining the historic status of the neighborhood. This new initiative is to broaden the range of activities and interests to building a stronger neighborhood identity among all residents, home owners, renters, churches, retail, etc. I thought browsing through your site might given me some ideas of activities used for building a neighborhood identity.

So how are things going with you Joseph? I will be back in JP and Boston midMay for my graduation ceremony up at Tufts. I cannot believe how quickly my time in Boston flew by. I was browsing through the pictures you have posted here and was feeling very homesick. Montgomery AL is a long way away from JP, both physically and culturally.
  • Joe Jr.

    thank you Joseph

Joe! I've joined and already commented on the southwest corridor park discussion. let me know if you could use my help on anything. Also i think we should re-name our neighborhood, StonySide, it has a much better ring to it than Hyde Park South ;) and fit with the Brookside, Pondside, Parkside naming..
  • Laura Gatzos

    Thank you!

    What a great organization!

I've been reading the Southwest Corridor Park discussions. I'd love to get more involved with neighborhood improvements!
  • Chad A MacLennan

Absolutely. Once I have some time to add stuff, I am sure I will be able to use it for what it is intended. Thank you for the invite and hanging out with us Friday night!!
  • EMDWyman

    will do - thanks!
  • Jane Harrell

Thanks for the welcome and for creating such a great network! I'm volunteering with the Adoption Center to get the word out there about the need for foster homes and our pet of the month program so I'll be updating the group with a lot of that information. The weekly blogs do sound great too! :-)
  • Rick Ward

Hi Joe- I cant say I understand what you are asking me to do. to the roslindale farmers market date. Can you help me with more information? thanks,
