    I'd be interested to hear about what you found "off-putting." I mean, I cried all the way home from my son's interview, because I couldn't imagine sending my little guy into this "lord of the flies" world.

    It's not easy to go from being a home-schooling, AP parent to being a SVS parent. My experience seems to be that many parents just aren't capable of "letting go" in the way that a Sudbury School requires.

    Anyway, I'd love to hear about your experiences.

    when I went it seemed as though most of the kids were wild and lost. when they showed me the giant book of rules it just seemed like they were missing the boat....obviously lots more to it than I can say here...."Lord of the Flies" is the perfect description of that place...I think there is a huge difference in trusting your child's ability to learn by guiding them and providing experiences and Sudbury's way which seemed to be complete abandonment with no leadership, guidance and really with some of the behaviors I witnessed in my very short visit....a recipe for disaster.
