How to create Snow Crew Watch Area

Thanks to our friends at SeeClickFix, creating a SnowCrew Watch Area allows you to stay up-to-date with SnowCrew Neighbor Requests (and others) being reported close to where you are.

Each time a Neighbor Request (or issue) is reported within your watch area, you will receive an email notification from SeeClickFix that contains all of the information you need to take action!

  1. To create your own watch area, go to the the SeeClickFix page for Boston and click “Watch Areas” at the top of the page.
  2. From here, click on "Create a Watch Area" and select “For Yourself”.
  3. For Who's Watching, type in your name
  4. For Email to send information to, type in your email
  5. For Only send me reports with keywords type in “shoveled”, “shovel” and “shoveling”.
  6. Check the “Make Watch Area Public” so other know the area is being watched
  7. Click “Create Watch Area”

Hey laura, yes, you can simply draw the area on your map.

I'm still in DC, AND committed to this project. If we figure it out in Boston, I can share it with people everywhere else. Joseph

Hey Joseph-

Is it possible to narrow down the watch area? For example, can I choose a 1/2 mile radius from my house where I am able to go to shovel?

Thanks,

Laura
