Youth Violence Documentary Premier Invitation

For the past 6 months, the Health Careers Ambassadors of the Hyde Square Task Force worked with an amazing film maker, Alex Gomez, and produced the documentary Looking for Peace, One Block at a Time. As a group, they really wanted to explore the devastating effects violence has on a young person, particularly their physical health and mental well-beings. Introducing the E-13/Jamaica Plain Neighbors Network

Last night we (BPD - my day job) announced the E-13/Jamaica Plain Neighbors Network. This is the network where you can meet your neighbors in your actual neighborhood, get educated and support from BPD to organize and mobilize your neighbors to address crime, quality of life, as well as coordinate fun neighborhood happenings like pot lucks, yard sales, and block parties.

Introducing the Neighbors for Neighbors Organizing Network

In response to the Neighbors for Neighbors 2008 Survey where over 50% of those who took the survey said they wanted more activity-based events and groups, we created the Jamaica Plain Organizing Network.
