    Hi Juliet -

I was out of town this weekend - sorry to have missed the meeting. Also, I realized that I have a conflict on the 11th, and won't be able to make it to the expo until after 8. But please let me know if I can do anything to help out in advance of the event.

    Hi Juliet,
Here's the info I have for the cups we use here at cityfeed. Of course the best option is to always bring your own mug! (shameless mug-project plug) Jeff
    Why is Equal Exchange switching?
Many of you requested a more environmentally friendly cup.
We agreed that would be a positive change.
After researching several options, we concluded that the Ecotainer cup was the best option available today. We believe it strikes the best balance between quality and environmental impact.

While there will be a price increase from our current cups, we feel the reduced environmental impact from the manufacturing process in combination with it’s ability to be composted in an industrial composting facility makes for a compelling reason to switch, and one that your customers will appreciate.
Fast Facts about the NEW CUP:
Made from fully renewable resources (there is no petroleum used in this product)
Requires less energy to produce than standard hot cups and in turn reduces the amount of greenhouse gas emissions
Manufactured with a corn-based plastic lining (PLA – polylactic acid resin) instead of the standard petroleum-based lining
In addition, all wood fiber used in the cup comes from sustainably harvested forests.
Certified by the Biodegradable Products Institute
Fully compostable under proper conditions in an industrial composting facility (find one in your local area: www.findacomposter.com)
