Please plan to stop by and shop for a "wish list" item - volunteers still needed for JP location...
Date/Time: April 26, 2008 - 10:30am-4:00pm
Locations: Cambridge, Somerville, Dorchester and Jamaica Plain
The Boston chapter of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism (NOMAS), working with several area domestic violence organizations and students groups, will host a Super Supply Drive on Saturday, April 26. Volunteers will be stationed outside supermarkets and drugstores at four collection sites asking shoppers to buy an item on the shelter "wish list." Requested items include toiletries, baby products and cleaning supplies. Donated items will be collected and delivered to area shelters. NOMAS is bringing together students, youth, religious people and other men's groups to create a large-scale event to raise awareness about men's roles in ending domestic violence.
4 collection sites + dozens of men and boys = 200 boxes of supplies collected for local domestic violence shelters.
