The Jamaica Plain Neighborhood Development Corporation (JPNDC), along with 15 co-sponsors including Neighbors for Neighbors, is orgazing the "JP Neighborhood Summit: Building an Equitable Community" on Sat., May 17th at English High. Morning panels include equitable community development, civic engagement, and economic justice and afternoon workshops will include CORI reform, race and class in our schools, Youth as Community Leaders, challenges facing the local business community, JP's famous diversity, and many more. The keynote speaker is Ruben Lizardo from PolicyLink, a national policy and advocacy organization.
There are two important ways that NFN members can help out.
1) Attend the Summit. Visit
http://www.jpndc.org/summit.php for more info and to register.
2) We need a significant amount of volunteers to help with the day-of logistics. Please see the below list email me (krobidoux@jpndc.org) with what task you are interested in. I will confirm with you within two days.
Thanks in advance for the help and I hope to see you on May 17th.
