I am a long time JP-er, self employed in holistic health and currently exploring shared solutions to transportation. I need a car some of the time, but not all the time. Commuting is some of my car usage, so things like Zip Car are not so practical. I imagine there may be other JP-ers who have similar interest. Please feel free to send me a message thru this site or pass this on to anyone you know who might be interested. Could be workable and very practical with the right collaboration. Here are some ideas:

Car Share
I am exploring possible collaboration w/ another, or a couple, on the share of a car. Expenses of car use, maintenance, insurance and repairs would be determined by percent usage of the car. I currently do not own a car but would consider being the main owner of a used car, to share with the right person/s. Ideal for someone nearer Hyde Square area /downtown JP, a person who doesn't need car all the time or a couple with 2 cars, someone motivated for economic & environmental reasons to share a vehicle. My car needs are Thurs. & Fridays, some weekends & some Mondays. Schedule & financial arrangement could be worked out clearly by those involved.

Car Pay Into
We agree on set monthly $ amount for me to contribute to you, for use of your car on a scheduled, on-going basis. Clear agreements would have to be worked out regarding insurance & usage. Alternately, you pay me for use of a car I invest in.

Ride Share
Driving to & fro Cambridge on a regular basis on Thurs. & Friday afternoons/evenings? I could potentially be a ride share for appropriate fee.

FYI, an interesting network set up to connect commuters, drivers & riders - and handle $ involved. You can offer yourself as a driver or rider. The more JP-ers who sign-up, the more resources we could all have right in our neighborhood for ride shares.
