Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

If you are one of the MANY JP residents who has problems with Comcast service (TV packets dropping, Internet not working, very spotty service, constant repairs) - PLEASE call Comcast to report and  call the office of our State Reps, Liz Malia (617-722-2060)  and Jeff Sanchez (617-722-2130).

The Comcast network in JP is in need of a major overhaul, but the company refuses to invest in better service primarily because there is no competition here (no Verizon).  We need better service and Comcast refuses to acknowledge the issues - please call you state reps if you are one of many having regular problems!

Hi everyone,

There is also a Mayor's Cable Office that helps people handle issues with Comcast and RCN.

You can call 617-635-3112 to speak with a person who can help from the Mayor's Cable Office.

You can also call Comcast directly at 617-787-6616 for Comcast Billing and Service questions.
We have Comcast internet service in JP and often have connection problems. For us, our connection problems happen most often when it is damp or rainy out. Do others have same problem? I am wondering if there are troubles with our specific house hook up as opposed to general service problems....
not to be captain obvious here but... have you called comcast? have they sent a tech to your home? if there are continued problems they should send a tier 2 or up tech that will go and check the lines outside (you don't even have to be home, UNLESS you live in a mult-family dwelling) The weather here is not the nicest, it's cold in the winter, hot and humid in the summer, the cable is not meant or built to last forever, and they know it. I had a problem last year, I myself fixed everything I could inside, they came, and it only took 2 calls and they replaced the line outside (the "drop") and that's it, problem solved. Also, keep in mind the age of your own wiring INSIDE, again, just because it's inside the house, doesn't mean the cable will last forever.
