Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Sadly, this is my first post. I discovered a dead cat around 11am today that had been apparently hit by a car on School Street a few doors up from the Mendel.

Adult cat. Black and white stripes. Red collar with two bells - one silver, one gold.

If anyone knows who the owner is or has any information about this cat, I'd like to connect with the owner before I call the city to have the body removed.

As you now know, this was my cat, Lulu, whom we miss very much. She was quite the cat, sashaying through the neighborhood, as was her way. But I wanted to thank you here for your great neighborliness in picking her up and taking the time to find our house and leave a note. Mostly, just to thank you for your thoughtfulness.

Fiona,

I wish you peace and feel for you.

Galen,

Thanks for reaching out to me and having the courage to share this news. I've lost a couple of animals and had no idea what happened to them and I wish I did.

Your a good person and a great neighbor.

Joseph
I'm so sorry for your loss...
Thank you Erika and Joseph. We have been thinking about Lulu all day, of course. We are so sad that she was killed and worried about our other kitty. But Lulu did have a really great life and was very happy, which we will always remember.

I am also wondering about reintroducing the subject of traffic calming for School St. There was some talk about this years ago, when Paul Gore St. and other streets near Hyde Square were made part of a pilot for traffic calming. School St. has become a racetrack, even though, obviously there are schools and playgrounds on it, and lots of young children around. Not to mention kitty cats.....

Thanks again, Fiona
