Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

A very disturbing incident happened this morning at the Stony Brook T.  A man was shouting homophobic slurs and harrassing me.  I do not know the individual (but i have reason to believe his lives in the general area) and the incident was completely unprovoked.  Has this happened to anyone else?  Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated.

If it happened on the T, I think the MBTA police have jurisdiction. If it happens again, you should take a photo/video of the man with your phone and submit it to the T--I have read on Universal Hub about similar incidents being reported and followed up on. Since you didn't get a photo of him at the time, I think you should write in to the T with an email detailing where exactly you were, when, and a description of the person, along with what he said/did. Then they can at least file a report, and who knows, maybe find a security camera image of the guy.

Sorry this happened to you!
