Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Hello,

I am looking for a nice place in JP, near the Stony Brook stop for either September, or October. A house share, studio, or a one/two bedroom place might be a good fit. In other words, I'm flexible.

I am a 26 year-old moving to JP from Medford, where I've been for the last 2 years. I'll be starting a new job this year with a student volunteer travel organization, and will mostly be working from home. Because of this, I'm looking for a place that will have some space, so I don't get claustrophobic.

In the past, the best house mates have been friends who are really good at communicating, giving each other space, and having a quick chat at the end of a long day. If I were to share a house, this is what I'm looking for. I love to be active, especially while retreating into nature, cook, take dance classes, read, and watch movies.

If it's not a house share, all I ask for is a quiet, safe place with some friendly neighbors who'd take in my mail when I'm out of town. Also, my job requires me to be abroad for 2-4 months a year, so the ability to sublet is a must. Utilities included would be a huge plus.

Another idea I had was to live in a house with an elderly person and in return, do the shopping, cleaning, etc. I have three years of experience doing overnight and daytime elderly care.

If anyone knows of a housing opportunity that may be good for me, please let me know. I appreciate any leads.

Thanks!

Christina
