Director of Policy and Planning

Boston EMS is the 9-1-1 emergency medical response service for the City of Boston and a leader in pre-hospital care. Boston EMS now seeks a Director of Policy and Planning

Develops and directs programmatic policy and strategic planning efforts at EMS in collaboration with senior leadership team at EMS and BPHC. Provides guidance to resolve problems, providing expertise regarding matters affecting strategic planning, policy development, inter-departmental, and intergovernmental relations.

REQ: BA/BS in Health Management, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Political Science/Government, or other related field required. MPH, MPA or other related master's required.

7-10 years experience managing health/social service programs and/or health policy initiatives and working within public health and/or city/municipal government. Must be self-directed individual with excellent oral and written communication skills. Very detailed oriented with excellent follow-through. Excellent interpersonal and management skills. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to manage committees and work teams. Excellent writing, speaking and presentation skills. Ability to work independently or as member of a team as required. Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of public health. Knowledge of Boston neighborhoods helpful. Boston Residency Required, or willingness to move to Boston within 6 months of hire.
