Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Hey Neighbors,

I had an awesome time voting today. I cast my votes around 9:00 am at the Mary Curly school on Centre. Overall it was an awesome experience! The line was long but it was the first time in my life I did not mind waiting. Like Julia said, I would have waiting in line all day if I had too.

On the way In had a vegan cranberry scone, a piece of quiche and some equal exchange coffee. I also got to chat with Lauren from JP Trees, ran into Jill (thanks for watching Jenny while I voted) and saw Francesca!

What were you're experiences?

My daughter came with me when I voted Tuesday afternoon, just as the line was starting to grow. Lots of parents with their children. Lots of positive energy. The people working at the polls were really helpful when someone wasn't sure what site to vote at. Later in the evening I watched election returns with friends at the Center of Light. I'm looking forward to basics in the US like universal health care and a genuine quest for peace and reconciliation.

Today we're having our monthly Prayers for Peace at the Center of Light at 7:30pm. You're welcome to come and join us. 200 Amory Street near the Stonybrook T stop. It feels like a positive next step to solidify our desires for the coming weeks and months. People are gathering at Centers of Light around the country tonight to pray for peace - another powerful wave crossing the country.
