Notes
Here it is, that special day of the year for love! What what better way to celebrate than to share your love of music and dancing with your friends here at the Jamaica Plain Contra Dance. Yes, come out, and wear your best red outfits and let's have a great time sharing in the wonderful community of our dancing!
I am happy to announce that Beth Parkes will be the caller for this evening's dance. Beth has a great warm and interactive personality, and loves calling and teaching contra & square dancing to communities all over New England and beyond. We are delighted to have her back to lead us in what is sure to be a fun and satisfying evening of dancing!
I am also happy to announce that one of our favorite bands, PERPETUAL MOTION! is accompanying her this evening with John Cote & Ed Howe playing a combination of fiddle, guitar, feet & mixing all of this in their magical sound box that makes them sound like a full 4 or 5 course band!! Their energy is hot, creative, fun loving, and their music is no less. This dynamic duo has made a bit hit with us, and will also be our main contra dance band at camp this spring (May 1st thru May 3rd)- check this out at
http://www.lcfd.org/lcfd/camp/ AFTER October 2008.
Together, you can "share the love" on the dance floor this evening with this fun filled, lively and hot evening of contra and square dancing!
So, WEAR YOUR RED!, bring some CHOCOLATE, and let's kick up our heels for a lovely fun filled evening of dancing on St. Valentine's Day! A great time to be had by all!
