Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Volunteer as a classroom aide in our Summer Programs for Children. Our programs include woodworking, fabric fun, photography and art of all kinds for ages 6-8, 9-12 and 12-14. Maximum class size is 6-10. We will assign you to one week at a time, from 8:30am-12:30pm or 12pm-4pm, assisting in a class that fits your interests and our needs. Program weeks are: June 14-18, June 21-25, June 28-July 2, July 5-8, and Aug 30-Sept 3. We are happy to complete paperwork for course credit or community service.

Requirements: Interest in art, comfort with children, promptness and reliability.

The Eliot School offers classes and workshops in arts and fine crafts to people of all ages. A full-service wood shop, a sewing room, and an all-purpose art room make up our 1831 building in the heart of Jamaica Plain. In addition, our School Partnership Program sends art and woodworking teachers out to public and private schools throughout greater Boston during the school year.
