Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Beacon Hospice provides comfort and dignity to those with life-limiting illnesses. Beacon Hospice's approach to hospice care creates a patient and family environment of hope, comfort, and dignity. This approach is extended through our volunteers, who can make an enormous difference in someone's life. Here at Beacon, Volunteers are the "Heart" of Hospice.

A hospice volunteer offers companionship, support, a helping hand. No matter who you are, you have something to offer hospice patients. You can make a profound difference in a person's life whether it is a 15 minute visit, writing letters, playing music, or just sitting quietly, holding a patient's hand. Volunteers play an integral role in Beacon Hospice's team approach to care that focuses on comfort, dignity and peace for the patient and their family.

Volunteers must complete a comprehensive training program and receive on-going support. Our next training begins Thursday, March 1st 6-9pm in Charlestown. Additonal trainings/locations are available. We care for patients throughout the Greater Boston Area-Reading, Winchester, Woburn, Charlestown, Chelsea, Brookline, South Boston, Dorchester, Hyde Park, Quincy and everywhere in between.
