Composers have always sought new ways to write music. Join the Quilisma Consort for an exploration of innovative sounds, from Medieval hocket and ars subtilior, to contemporary pieces that use some of the same techniques. Works of Filippotto and Antonello da Caserta, Johanes Ciconia, Borlet, Melika M. Fitzhugh, Robert Kyr, Lance Eccles, and David Amram, performed on Renaissance and modern instruments. On Sunday, March 6, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at the historic Loring-Greenough House, 12 South Street, Jamaica Plain.

The Sunday Afternoon at the ‘Greenough House series recreates the atmosphere of 18th and 19th century “musical afternoons” in the 1760 Loring-Greenough House on the first and third Sundays of each month, October through May.
