Description: Jen Grygiel is a singer and guitarist originally from New York. She moved to Boston in 2002 and formed the dyke rock trio, Steel Poniez, and recorded their first and only album “Ride”. In 2007 she started the band MEandJOANCOLLINS http://www.myspace.com/meandjoancollins with Bo Barringer and is now working on her first acoustic solo work since the late 90’s. She has shared bills with: the Cliks, Kimya Dawson, the Butchies, Girlyman, God-des and She… “He said-she said rock is hot in the Hub…While the he (singer/guitarist Bo Barringer) and she (singer/guitarist Jen Grygiel) haven’t been around long, they’ve already managed to add a nice haggard quality to the MEandJOANCOLLINS’ sound. Think good, gritty new wave with a bad, Britpop hangover.” Jed Gottlieb Boston Herald “MEandJOANCOLLINS sounds kinda like a garage band that would have surely been monumental in the ‘80s, and you’d never have expected such strutting, clap-along music to emerge from Cambridge. The quirky quintet will not only play Somerville’s Abbey Lounge this Saturday, but they’ll also, according to their MySpace, “get married.” Awww.” Boston Metro “…a group that sounds like a mix of Debbie Harry and David Bowie”. Meredith Goldstein Boston Globe “MeandJoanCollins draw from Britpop, especially bands with garage-rock roots…” Liza Weisstuch Boston Pheonix
