435 South Huntington Avenue, Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts 02130

About Members Of Morphine Dana Colley, Jerome Deupree and Jeremy Lyons together are "Members of Morphine: the Elastic Waste Band." They perform songs by the late Morphine-frontman Mark Sandman, as well as their own brand of "psycho-delta blues." The trio includes Dana on baritone sax and Jerome on drums, two-thirds of the original line-up of the seminal Boston-based progressive rock band, the two who backed Sandman up their debut record Good and the band’s break-out follow-up, Cure for Pain. Jeremy Lyons is a slide guitarist and singer from New Orleans who met Dana and Jerome after relocating to Cambridge, MA following Hurricane Katrina. Jeremy plays electric guitar and a version of Sandman’s own 2-string slide bass. In July of 2009, Jeremy, Dana and Jerome performed at Nel Nome Del Rock Festival in Palestrina, Italy, ten years to the day after Mark passed away on that very same stage. The Elastic Waste Band has taken up residency at Atwood’s Tavern in East Cambridge, MA (877 Cambridge St), where they play every Wednesday night at 10pm. The sound of the group continues to evolve as they have the freedom to experiment with new sounds an arrangements. In addition to covering Morphine material, The Elastic Waste Band performs music by Jimi Hendrix (with Dana playing the guitar parts on his electric baritone sax), Latin Playboys, as well as much of the Delta Blues material in Jeremy’s own repertoire.
