Representatives from the Boston Transportation Department (BTD), Public Works Department (DPW), and the Parks Department are going to be stationed at Mozart Park (corner of Centre and Mozart streets) to help fix up the area. They will be repainting crosswalks, fixing signs, trimming trees, and beautifying the neighborhood as part of the city-wide Street Improvement Team!
They will be taking requests on site for repairs and repainting, as well as filling requests that have come through the Mayor's 24 Hour Hotline (617-635-4500). I hope you might be able to join them in the morning, to provide live requests and feedback for the area between Hyde and Jackson squares.
The Street Improvement Team is a neighborhood maintenance initiative designed to provide immediate and significant upgrades to local streets, block-by-block. The Team kicked off in Grove Hall in August and has since then cleaned-up streets in West Roxbury and the North End. Following Jamaica Plain, visits will be made to East Boston, Mattapan and the Morton/Norfolk areas of Dorchester. Additional neighborhoods will be added this year, weather permitting, and the Team will start up again next spring.
