Robberies near Boylston Street
Hi Neighbors,
My apartment was robbed the other day (between 9:30a-12:30p) and I'm told there were a few others nearby recently. I wanted to spread the word and warn everyone to be extra vigilant and observant. We had a window open with those little stopper things, but the thieves were small enough to sneak in through the space. It may have been youngsters, or just very thin adults, but regardless, close and lock your windows. The thieves made off with some laptops and video gaming systems, but were interrupted by a neighbor, thankfully, and ran off.
Let's look out for each other and call 911 if you see anything suspicious. As an example, our front and back doors were wide open when our neighbor came home, but we have indoor cats and would never leave the doors open like that. Know your neighbors, know when things look out of the ordinary and don't be afraid to call the police if you think something is awry.

Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to report another robbery incident - on Boylston Street, near City Feed. First floor of a triple decker, yesterday, between 1 and 3 pm. It was the one window of time when no one was home in the building, making us wonder if they were watching. They climbed through a side window, stole a flat screen tv, computer and all accessories, etc. They left by the front door (brazen!) carrying everything - mid-day. Yes, please keep a lookout everyone - thank you! -

Hey, should we consider doing a flyer campaign on Boylston Street warning people to keep their windows closed when not home? Maybe the best way to get the word out to the populace. Very sorry to hear about recent break ins. Horrible stuff I know (from experience!)

Erin, that's a great idea. I wonder if Joseph still has the template for the flyers we handed out during the spate of muggings we had recently. It's obscene that our lovely neighborhood has been the target of muggings AND break-ins, and I hope we can all come together to curb some of the crime that's been on our doorsteps (literally). I'll be glad to do some flyering. I wonder if there are other ways to protect the neighborhood as well. I mean, we all have day jobs, that's why we're being targeted. So how do we keep our homes safe during the day?
And Jen, I'm sorry to hear you were a victim as well. I don't know about you, but I'm seriously enraged about this. I hope that can be channeled into productivity, but I just can't believe what arrogance and disregard for humanity tells someone they can steal from others. -
