Hi all,
I've been going to a monthly science fiction book club in Salem, but I want to do something closer to home. Any interest in starting a monthly book club?

For those who decide to see "Avatar" this week, please post your impression. A short review (with no spoilers) is sufficient.

IDK Rebecca, "Avatar" looks a bit cartoonish in the trailers on TV in standard definition. I'd wait for the DVD release. And maybe check a few forums online with people who've seen it.

Great info Chris. Farscape was one of the best Sci-fi series to date!

anyone have any thoughts on the new movie coming out Avatar? Ive only just heard about it this past weekend and am skeptical about its claims to 'reinvent the visual effects of sci-fi movies'.....

Sorry for the long time neglect of this group. Life has been crazy lately. So much has happened in the Sci-Fi world (the reimagining of "V", Caprica (the Battlestar Galactica prequel) coming soon, the reboot of Star Trek, David Tennant leaving Dr. Who and the ridiculous renaming of the Sci-Fi Channel to SyFy...LOL!
Geeks unite. Let's start a dialogue again.

Anyone interested in a cheesy SF flick get together?

My place isn't good for hosting a get together so someone else would have to play host.

But I've got a disturbingly large collection of of cheesy and 50s, 60s SF films on DVD that would make for great fun viewing in groups.
