The good news is the City just said they are "not expecting significant storm surge or evacuations in Boston". The bad news is they are concerned about "damaging tropical force winds".

Hurricane and Flood Watches Issued

The National Weather Service has issued a hurricane watch for coastal Massachusetts, including the City of Boston. A hurricane watch means that hurricane conditions are possible within the next 48 hours. In addition, a flood watch has been issued and will be in effect beginning Saturday evening and into Sunday night.

Prepare for Hurricane Irene Now!

Neighbors,

It looks like we are going to get hit by Hurricane Irene this weekend.

"National Hurricane Center Director Bill Read laid the threat out plainly: "We are very concerned with what's going to happen in New England. The benchmark is the 1938 hurricane. I am very concerned with what will happen there.""
