Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Happy Spring Neighbors!

With spring quickly opening up, it is time again to think about the yearly community Clean-Up. This year's annual BOSTON SHINES is the last Saturday morning in April: Saturday, April 30, 2011.

This event has become a tradition, we invite you and your organization to really enable Jamaica Plain to shine during 2011. Please call Jullieanne Doherty at (617)635-4855 by THIS FRIDAY, April 15th if you are interested signing up as an individual or your JP: crime watch, neighborhood group, church, athletic league or school group! The City will supply tools for volunteers and a limited supply of T-shirts.

The fastest way to get more information and to register is online at:
http://www.cityofboston.gov/ons/bostonshines/2011.asp

THIS FRIDAY, APRIL 15th is the DEADLINE for signing up formally for Boston Shines. Anyone after the deadline will still be invited to join in the cleanup if you would like to join in an already established group - just be sure to wear conformable clothes and bring your own tools.

On Saturday, April 30, come to Curtis Hall or Mozart Park between 8:30am and 9:30am to pick up the tools you requested. That afternoon, after the volunteer work has been done, return all tools to the site you picked them up by 2:00pm by Jullieanne Doherty from the Mayor's Office and Public Works Department will start picking up all the trash at noon.

Boston Shines in Jamaica Plain is always fun, I've been participating with my mother for years. Your key community members remind you that clean streets are safe streets, so please help by rolling up your sleeves and joining your neighbors on the JP Spring Clean Up. This is a chance we have to make a difference in our community!
