Celebrate Architecture and Design in JP at Common Boston Week

Common Boston Week 2010 is coming to Jamaica Plain on Saturday, June 19! The Boston Society of Architects invites you to join us for more than forty free, public events celebrating architecture and design in Boston’s neighborhoods.

A few highlights in Jamaica Plain:

  • Community Garden Walk with master urban gardener Kathryn Prybylski
  • A Spiritual Spaces Tour with the JP Historical Society
  • A Public Art Walk with community artist and activist Roberto Chao
  • A Tour and Discussion of the Past, Present, and Future of Forest Hills Station
  • “Wayfinding” the Arboretum with signage designers Roll Barresi & Associates
  • A Tour of the Southwest Corridor Park with architect David Lee and the Southwest Corridor Park Conservancy

This event is very cool. I went last year. I work for the Boston Society of Architects, which sponsor it, but I also live in JP and loved the tour of the Brewery buildings I went on last year. You can learn a lot about a neighborhood, and the organizers are young and cool, so it's a lot of fun too!
