Over 50 residents of Parkton Road enjoyed a block on Saturday, September 26, 2009. Over 50 residents got to meet new neighbors and catch up with old ones. The potluck event was organized by several of the residents as a way to get to know the people who call this area of JP their home. Several new events were planned at the party to build upon this fun event. "Movie Night" will take place in the parking lot of one resident whose back wall will serve as the movie screen. "We need another opportunity to get together before the snow starts to fall" states resident, Patti McKenna. And to keep the momentum going, the group is going to form dinner clubs. The thought behind this idea is to have 8 residents get together and host a dinner in a home. Spend the evening getting to know each other and share a meal. Each quarter new groups of eight will be organized to hold dinners, all in the name of getting to know your neighbor.
