I was very saddened to hear about the shooting on Boylston Street on Saturday. I saw there was a vigil held on Sunday. Does anyone have any more information on what happened?
DEATH INVESTIGATION IN THE AREA OF 205 BOYLSTON STREET
Homicide Victim Identified
At about 6:15pm, on Saturday, October 23, 2010, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of 205 Boylston Street. On arrival, officers located a male victim lying outside of 201 Boylston Street. The victim was transported to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital suffering from a life-threatening injury. The victim has since been pronounced deceased as a result of his injuries. The victim has been identified as Luis Torres, 23, of Boston.
Officers located a 2nd victim at the corner of School and Washington Streets. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center and is being treated for a non-life threatening injury.
The Boston Police Homicide Unit is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident. The Boston Police Department urges anyone with information, regardless how unimportant it may seem, to contact the Boston Police Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.

Often in situations like this, Boston Police and DA office will not release information about the victims, the circumstances, and progress the have or have not made to protect the integrity of the investigation, the rights of others, but also to not fuel retaliation and further violence.
