Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Boston feels like a real city to me now!

That's a big statement, but until recently, I've had to travel to Montreal, Miami, and NYC to enjoy the experience I had yesterday at Figment and I will again later this afternoon on the Rose Kennedy Greenway.

When I tell friends not from Boston, about Boston, I tell them it feels like a big town, mostly it's because it's walkable which I love, and but also, I'll admit, it has lacked what I call "public events and festivals with an international and up beat flavor."

Until now, thanks to Figment!

FIGMENT is an explosion of creative energy. It’s a free, annual celebration of participatory art and culture where everything is possible. For two days this summer, it transforms the Rose Kennedy Greenway into a large-scale collaborative artwork, and then it’s gone.

YOU CAN GO EXPERIENCE FIGEMENT YOURSELF TODAY SUNDAY JUNE 5 THROUGH 6 PM!

I really enjoyed getting to experience the art and the vibe of all the people smiling, exploring and dancing together. It's like people in Boston were actually enjoying themselves!

The Rose Kennedy Greenway was also amazing itself, I had not had a reason to check it out until yesterday. While exploring, I climbed up what I call the Fort Net, crawled into the the color cloth fort (I like the word fort), admired the art installations against the cityscape, and danced with hundreds of people. Oh, and I almost forgot, the rose petal tent - that rocks!

See the pictures below and see you there this afternoon!

Here is what our neighbor Jason Turgeon, the event producer had to say about the event:
