Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Jumpstart is a leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to ensuring that every child in America enters school prepared to succeed. Jumpstart Community Corps Members are community volunteers, ages 55 and over,
from Mattapan, Roxbury, Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, and South
Boston who commit to working with preschool children twice a week
during the school year. They support the children in early literacy, language,
and social/emotional development by reading with them and engaging in
interactive learning activities.

We currently work with 2 preschools in JP (near Heath Street and near Stonybrook). We would love to spread the word about Jumpstart in the JParea! Please contact Liana Mitman if you know of community members ages 55+ who would like to hear about the program, or if you have ideas
about ways to connect with seniors in the area! (Email: liana.mitman@jstart.org or call 857-413-4631). Note, volunteers receive a modest stipend.
