Help bring homes, small businesses and green space to the
Arborway Yard!
Ten years ago, the MBTA made a commitment to the JP community. It promised to build a new, environmentally sound bus facility on its Washington Street property at Forest Hills -- the Arborway Yard -- and to turn over 8 acres to the City of Boston. A lengthy community planning process deemed that this land would be used for affordable homes, small businesses and green/open space.
Now, after already investing $30 million in this project, the MBTA has neglected to include the final funds needed in its current capital budget. This means that promised deadlines will be missed AND that our community will continue to be denied benefits promised a decade ago!
Action: Make your voice heard by writing to the MBTA's General Manager, Richard Davey, asking him to reinsert promised funds. Please act NOW! You may submit a letter in two ways:
