Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Beecher Parkers:

Greeting neighbors and canines and welcome to all the new park users! For those of your who don't know Beecher Park is maintained by us - the users of the park. There is not overarching organization that runs or is responsible for the park. Neighbors for Neighbors provides the online group used for communication and serves as a fiscal agent (accepts donations on behalf of the park) - but park maintenance and funding comes from us.

As you may have noticed, the park needs a little love so we're organizing a spring clean up on Saturday, May 30 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm followed by a BBQ.

Here's what we've come up with for projects by priority:

Must do projects:

- Replace Gate/Fence
- Pull woodchips, etc. away from sides of park, especially back.
- Re-stain wooden fence.
- Replace Corkboard.
- Build tool shed (or incorporate into gazebo some how)
- Pick up poop.
- Install new signs for rules and trash instructions.
- Build new the Gazebo.

For this to work we need:

- Project leaders for the Storage Shed and Gazebo projects.
- People who actually know how to build a Shed and Gazebo
- Tons of people to help with all the other projects
- Donations to fund projects (Dog Walkers especially please).
- Volunteers to pick and breakfast coffee and bagels
- Volunteers to prep and cook lunch (Sam Adams will provide beer - I have a grill).
- Volunteers to make Park Clean Up signs

Please go the Beecher Park group to let us know how you'd like to be involved and to make a donation. Dog Walker are especially encouraged the donate and participate.

Please see the main group page to donate now and reply to tell us how you'd like to contribute.

Thanks.

Thanks Andrea. To donate you can do so here via pay pal - http://www.neighborsforneighbors.org/group/beecherpark
Sean and Emily can help with picking up the food for the bbq. Will we have an estimate of how many people are coming before Saturday? And when do we need to get the cash to pay for the food?

Also, this might be a ridiculous question, but is this a human only event or can we bring our dogs?

Thanks!
Emily & Sean
Hey Emily and Sean - thanks for volunteering. I did not see this until now.

I'll give you the cash. I am not sure about the number of people yet - we'll find out tomorrow.
Hey Everyone! Just wanted to say that I wouldn't mind volunteering to pick coffee and bagels. Sorry, I'd call the number listed but I'm at work right now ;) shhh! So if someone can just tell me where/when to pick up that would be cool. Thanks, and look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
Hey Jen,

I'll order the bagels and coffee from City Feed! All you have to do it pick them up.

Thanks!
I'll (Chris) be there for heavy lifting and helping with the shed and gazebo construction effort. Kelly will be coming later in the afternoon. Do we need hand tools (hammers, saws, drills, screwdrivers and whatnot)? Let me know I have just about everything...
It looks like we are going to just build the foundation for the gazebo on Sat, then so more work over the next fews days. Andrea will brief everyone tomorrow.
