Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Are you indulging in comfort foods this winter?
Or, are you focused on eating foods that will keep your immune system fighting and strong?
Have any good dishes that do double duty?

Mac & Cheese! Make it yourself with lots of interesting cheeses, add a pinch or two of saffron, top with panko, pop it in the oven. Meanwhile, marinate some tomatoes and add them to a huge pile of arugula. Open a bottle of white Bordeaux and you've got dinner.....and a memory. Eat homemade vegetable soup the rest of the week. Yesterday, I saw fresh kale (picked in the snow) at City Feed. Yum!!! I have an iron-clad immune system so it must be working.
Diane - the Mac n' cheese sounds perfect. Just what is needed on a 16 degree day! And, the pile of veggies does no harm! Only good. Thanks for your idea!

Let's see if we can inspire our healthy friends to post a few more! Anyone?
Eating foods that keep my immune system strong? I wish! Fortunately, my partner is a fantastic cook and has been keeping the soups and chilis coming.

City Feed and Supply made me fall in love again with Shepard's Pie. They carry an organic brand in their freezer that's quite good.
