We should organize a #poopup where we all go around and pick up poop! How about next Saturday?

Kellyn, to clarify, did  it help with the poop or the off-leash walking? Can you upload a pic of one of the signs? Where/how did you get/make them?

I definitely encourage putting up signs to help stop the poop, Derrick.  I did that in my neighborhood in an area where people let their dogs off leash.  It absolutely helped!!

I'm also a dog owner, and a responsible one.  I find it absolutely disgusting that people don't pick up after their dogs.  Like Matt, I find myself picking up after others in addition to my own dogs. And I'm sorry, but snow is no excuse.  It almost seems to have been WORSE this winter.  I mean, I understand if - on occasion, after looking - someone can't find something in the snow or leaves.  But, it should be a rare exception.  It seems to have become the rule.  I'm close to posting "Curb your dog" signs on the SW Corridor where I walk, as well.  You're right: it's really giving the rest of us a bad name, in addition to being a nuisance for us all.  Wow, I'm really fuming about this.  Who knew?

I also own a dog and have seen poop all over my new JP neighborhood (near Doyles).  It drives me nuts.  I find myself picking up poop from other peoples' dogs.

 

I also have a dog park nearby - a neighbor told me people let their dogs poop there all the time and don't pick up after them - they think there's a crew to do this, but it's actually neighbors who can't deal with it.  They give us responsible dog owners a bad name.  There are even poop bags provided here and a trashcan so there's no excuse!

oh my goodness - just moved to the wenham st. area this past fall, and i've been flabbergasted by the dog poop everywhere! (i'm also a dog owner.) I'm glad it's not just me, but i'm also sad to see that this isn't just a winter thing around here. now that the snow has melted and there's really no excuse, i'm thinking of posting "please curb your dog" signs. Probably a waste of time, but maybe it will at least help me feel better. :)

Actually for me it is the chicken bones. Forget the sanitary aspects, I am just curious about where they come from and who tosses them on the side walk. I am working with the assumption that sewer rats are dragging them from an illegal chicken slaughter house nearby.
