Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

Hello, I'm working on an article on Simco's and wondering whether anyone here grew up in the area and remember eating at Simco's. The older the better. Feel free to drop me an email.

Thanks

Brynmore,

I would suggest providing some additional information about Simco, where it used to be, did, and why your interested in covering it.

Thanks.
I have a very cool Simco's memory. Until my sister and I (we are twins) were two and a half, we lived on Wilmore Street in Mattapan, which is off of Blue Hill Avenue (after that we grew up in Randolph). I remember pushing my baby carriage up the hill...walking next to my sister, being so small my arms were extended to reach the bar...so my mother wouldn't have to push our combined wt....our destination...Simco's...I remember my mother talking about it. And then we got there, and ate hotdogs while overlooking the train tracks next to them. This is one of my first memories.

When my mother was dying, I brought her back to the old neighborhood and I was psyched to see that Simco's was still there. So we had lunch...once again, of course, the "mile long hotdog".
