Join us for a reflective evening of poetry, music, and a presentation raising funds for the Bumi Sehat Birth Clinic in Jacmel, Haiti.
Established in response to the earthquake, the clinic has a long-term mission of building a permanent facility to care for mothers and children, with an all-Haitian staff and rotating volunteers from the U.S.
Midwife and birth clinic director Katherine Bramhall will speak of the work in Haiti, poets Fred Marchant and Afaa Michael Weaver will read, and violinist Shaw Pong Liu will play musical selections. A raffle and refreshments will follow!
$20 donation gratefully accepted at the door.
You can read more about the clinic (and make online donations) at: www.bumisehathaiti.blogspot.com
