My name is Kendra PeloJoaquin, and I attend Prescott College. I'm currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in elementary education. At Prescott, each class is arranged between the student and a mentor. In the education department, naturally there are state requirements of what must be studied, but each mentor/student pair decides on what texts, what experiences, and what papers and other writing must be completed for each course.

Prescott also emphasizes service, so students frequently volunteer in the classrooms where their mentor teaches, or where they're doing field study or student teaching.

I am currently looking for two mentors for the upcoming semester. The semester is 16 weeks long, and I am available up to 10 hours a week to volunteer in a classroom to trade for mentoring me. (The college pays a very small stipend to mentors, but you can add "adjunct faculty" to your resume!)
