Neighbors for Neighbors

Do stuff with and for your neighbors

1 Bedroom available June 1st in 3 bedroom condo on Paul Gore Street.

Friendly 2nd-floor apartment in JP (a minute walk from Centre St.. 39 bus and five minutes from Stony Brook train station). Two women in our early-mid thirties live here.  Between the two of us, we are artist, student, public health doer, massage therapist, cook, knitter, singer, reader, writer, lover of public radio, drinker of both coffee and tea...  The apartment has hard wood floors, a very large kitchen with a brand new stove, a newly renovated bathroom, two living rooms, and a newly built deck overlooking trees and gardens. We are both hard working, progressive, outgoing, and into taking care of our home, and are looking for a queer friendly person who is clean, communicative, and responsible to share our place with. Currently no pets, though a cat is negotiable.  On-street parking.  Minutes walk to the Brendan Behan, The Haven and Canary Sq! Our landlords are very responsive and thoughtful. Rent is $690 plus utilities.

The bedroom is a cheerful, cozy space with a separate entrance from the apartment as a whole.  It has 3 windows with an wonderful cross-breeze in the summer and an amazing view and light year-round. The sun comes in in the morning and lights up the room nearly all day - great for plants, and for people alike (especially in the winter, when sunlight is a hot commodity.) While the bedroom itself doesn't have a closet, it comes with a huge closet in one of the 2 (!) common areas of the main apartment. This space is perfect for someone who enjoys a bit of privacy.  While we have a colorful, social and supportive household, we all understand that it's nice to retreat into the room and the separate door that comes with this one makes it just that - a retreat!
