Event Description

Tomas Moniz and Jeremy Adam Smith come to Boston to discuss their new essay collection "Rad Dad: Dispatches from the Frontiers of Fatherhood," which combines the best pieces from Tom's award-winning zine "Rad Dad" and from Jeremy's blog "Daddy Dialectic," two kindred publications that have tried to explore parenting as political territory.

With grace and honesty and strength, Rad Dad’s writers tackle all the issues that other parenting guides are afraid to touch: the brutalities, beauties, and politics of the birth experience, the challenges of parenting on an equal basis with mothers, the tests faced by transgendered and gay fathers, the emotions of sperm donation, and parental confrontations with war, violence, racism, and incarceration.

"If buying a gender-neutral pacifier is the most radical thing you've done as a parent, Rad Dad will nudge you back on track," says the SF Weekly. For more information about the book, see https://secure.pmpress.org/index.php?l=product_detail&p=361

This is a very impromptu, last-minute event (we're also appearing at Lorem Ipsun bookstore the night before!), so please do invite friends who might be interested!
