Event Description

The Joan Rubin School:

A vision for a new school in Greater Boston

--------------------------------------------------------


This event will be an information session describing our future school and

providing background on democratic learning models. The school

founders will speak briefly, followed by a Q&A style discussion.


Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 at 11:30 AM

Jamaica Plain Library, 2 Sedgwick Street


Unique features of this school will include:

-Democratic governance

-Age-mixed environment

-Dedication to children's natural development

-Diversity among student body

-Self-directed learning

-Healthy and supportive community

-Year-round School

-Accessible by public transportation


Schools around the world have used these principles of

student-initiated learning and democratic governance. They have been

correlated with successful, happy, and self-aware graduates.


We want to hear from you!

We are actively seeking energetic people to help in the work of

founding The Joan Rubin School. We are eager to hear the voices of

parents interested in this type of education for their children.
