Ethiopian is a refreshing change at dinnertime. We get to eat with our fingers, reach across the table, and steal our neighbors food. On May 17th we'll be at Blue Nile, a Yelp four-star restaurant. Right next to the Chinese Food Wall (a recommended takeout joint), this cozy, value-priced restaurant has impressed more than a few Ethiopian foodies, even a few who have tried the formidable fare offered in Washington D.C., an Ethiopian mecca. So we're going to see what all the fuss is about.

Hello Dan. Sorry for not getting back to you before.
I will be at the Blue Nile at 7pm.
See you there,
Maria
Matt, my personal expectation of Chinese takeout is lower than sit-down food. That said, I think Food Wall has tasty Orange Chicken, General Tso's Chicken, and egg rolls. The take-out Chinese places on the Forest Hills side of JP are entirely unmentionable. When I order Chinese for delivery, it's from Dragon Chef in Roslindale. Again, not divine, but it's the best I've found in the area that delivers.
For higher-end Chinese fare I head into Brookline, to Golden Temple on Beacon St. If you want lean, healthy top-notch Chinese, try Bonnard's in the back of the Chestnut Hill Mall.
I also will not be attending, btu I've been to the Blue Nile a few times and it's pretty amazing.
On another note, is Food Wall really a recommended takeout place? I used to live near Hyde Square and I've been to Food Wall many times, but it was mostly greasy and unappealing - I wonder if there are any decent Chinese places anywhere in our area?
We'll see you next time, Dana!
I'm sorry to miss this, but there's a big panel discussion at my kids' school that I have to attend that night. :(
Have fun everyone.
