Event Description

"Who Is Winning the Battle on Childhood Obesity?" is a free discussion that is open to the public -- come join the conversation!

The panel will have a researcher from Indiana specializing in obesity and exercise, a staffer from the Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity, the head of Harvard Pilgrim Healthcare Foundation, and the principal of Partners for a Healthier Community in Western MA.

Dr. Chris Economos from the Friedman School of Nutrition at Tufts will moderate this conversation on which policies on childhood obesity are effective, from calorie counting to food labeling to junk food taxes. We’ll be determining what causes obesity, who should police it, and what the unintended consequences are of the methods we’ve tried thus far.

As always at the Forum, the first half will be the experts talking and the second half will be the audience asking questions and joining the discussion. See you at the Forum!
