Award-winning storyteller Diane Edgecomb and Celtic harper Margot Chamberlain lead the audience on a Story and Music Journey through the enchanting groves of the Arnold Arboretum. This evening of tree myths from around the world was designed specifically for the Arboretum and takes us to some of its loveliest spots. Stories and music are drawn from the rich cultural traditions of Japan, Wales, England, Australia, Czechoslovakia, Russia and Native America. The evening culminates with the haunting Czech legend “The Wild Woman of the Birch Grove” told among the birches of Bussey Hill at sunset. Bring a cushion to sit on if you wish and comfortable walking shoes. The journey will be approximately two miles on and off trails. In case of severe rain the performance will be held indoors at the Hunnewell Building (the Arboretum's main building) and additional Solstice legends will be added.
